WAR Week Wrap-up {Freedom Walk}

Today we're wrapping up an amazing week of focusing on human trafficking and the amazing ministry that Women At Risk, International is having by rescuing women and children, helping them heal and giving them an opportunity to have a life of dignity! We are so honored, yet humbled, to have a small part in making a difference as we team up with WAR to raise money through our shop and raise awareness through our social media outlets (Facebook, and this blog!). We hope that this week has been eye-opening for you as you’ve learned more about the realities of human trafficking, as well as so heart-stirring for you that you'll never be the same!

Don’t worry, this isn’t the last you’ll hear about WAR from us! We plan to share current happenings and highlight programs a couple times a month, plus we want to tell you all the ways we’re getting involved with WAR and give plenty of opportunities for you to as well!

To wrap up this “WAR week,” we want to tell you about an opportunity that we are both going to be apart of in just 3 short weeks! We will NEED your help to make this happen!

The Hope Project is an organization out of Muskegon, MI (near us!) that is a partner of WAR Int’l. Their mission is to bring restoration and healing from the effects of sexual trafficking. They have rehabilitative programs and services, an aftercare service for child victims, and they even have a safe house for children rescued from trafficking in the United States. This is right in our back yard!

On April 21, 2011, they are having a Freedom Walk in Grand Rapids to raise money to fight child trafficking! It will be held at Grand Rapids Community College. There will be a 1-mile walk around Grand Rapids and then refreshments and a special speaker afterwards! We both plan to raise as much money as possible and walk in honor of all the precious children who are victims of trafficking.

We have a goal to raise at least $200 together! We only have three weeks, but we think we can do it. However, we’d LOVE to surpass the $200 mark!
